Idesa & Elo
Recalled by frontiersman Olaf Sand, a story ralated to him by a decendent from an obscure clan living in Northwest Canada sometime in the late 1600's, he tells the tale of the courage of Idesa and her bond with Elo, the Great Bear. Elo, marked with the silver blaze, inherited from his mother, the legionary white bear of the north.
Idesa was born into a hostile world. Her father had died before she was born, and a woman without a husband or son to provide for her, had to fend for herself.
Her first memory was of the night of the wolf, and how brave her mother stood.
"Night of the Wolf"
As a young girl, she took the treacherous path home. It was a narrow ribbon with beckoning depths to one side and towering giants on the other. Night fell quickly and her dying torch barely lit her way. She was too close, when see saw them. When the moment came, she sank to her knees, drawing her blade. For an instant, their eyes locked, each knowing their only path. The great white bear had no choice, she had to defend her cub.

The Legend of Fire & Rain
The Legend of Fire & Rain
When the earth was new - and the gods were young
Wild hearts and warring tribes - made the night electric.
She was the flame - that danced in the night
He was the rain - that rode on the wind.
Their desire was forbidden - their love taboo
A warrior chief - proud and strong
Soon to wed - the sister of the moon.
A maiden so fair - she out-shone the stars
Betrothed to - the brother of the sun.
Yet on this night - nothing could keep them apart.
She felt his caress - long before he touched her
He knew her heat - long before she kissed him
Defying the gods - their elders - their tribes
They journeyed to the ends of the earth.
There alone in the desert - with only the moon to see
They gazed upon each other - as they never had before
Lightning bolts danced - as they became as one
All through the night - their spirits soared
Entwined in the eternal dance of love.
As morning broke - she lie dying
Like the fading embers - of a great blaze
His love had consumed her - extinguished her flame
Cold in his arms - her touch still searing his heart
His sorrow flooded the earth - a torrent of tears
Raining down - til nothing of him remained
Forever in the next world - her flame burns for him
And his desire for her - rains down from the sky
Eternally.
